What should I do? *Needing a female opinion*?

There is somebody at work whom I really fancy and have the hots for, but I don't know how to make the first move. I chat to her regulary in the corridor etc and she has also popped into my office for a chat. We make each other laugh and I am 65% sure she likes me and I know she is single. But I just want to break the ice and let her know how I really feel about her. I know this sort of question gets asked millions of times on here but it's not like the usual 'go and chat her' up kind of situation as I am abit shy because it is at work. I don't want to come on heavy so she gets completeley spooked and keeps me at arms length for ever. Should I send her a small gift with a few words of lurrve or is this too cheesy. What would you do?, I'm completley snookered
