Why cant i recieve text in my im but i recieve audibles?

my friends are recieving my ims but im not getting theirs? but i am recieving there audibles????????wierd can anybody help im going crazy!! ive phoned yahoo and no help from them!! my pc recently crashed does that have anything to do with it ? are my settings all screwed up HELP!!!!!
