Can somebody explain to me in detail how to use pendulum to measure pulse rate?

Time period of pendulum is (1/2*pie)*sqrt(l/g). Therefore, wisely choose, the length of pendulum so that its time period becomes 1 second that time the pendulum is just like a clock of least count of 1 sec. With this clock compare your pulse rate.
