Does "America's Team" Really Mean "Fakest Team"?

Seriously The Dallas Cowboys are considered America's team because most of their fans come from outer state and most fans from Texas root for the Texans. Am I wrong? That team is the most commercialized Team even more than the Yankees and Im a Yankee fan. About 90% of Yankee fans come from New York.
